Written by EpuBloom

This cover editor is part of TXT to EPUB conversion. It creates the cover for a new EPUB; it does not replace a cover inside an existing EPUB.

A square image can look unusually short beside other books in a library. EpuBloom fits uploaded images to a consistent 2:3 portrait canvas and lets you add movable title and author text before exporting.

1. Choose a TXT and fill in Book details

Open the converter, choose a TXT, and expand “Book details.” Check the title and author, including any automatically detected text. These fields supply the cover text and the EPUB metadata. The export filename follows the title until you edit the filename yourself.

2. Add your image and choose its fit

Use “Choose image” in the Book cover card. JPG, PNG, and WebP are practical source formats. Choose an image no larger than 20 MB or 40 megapixels. The browser generates a 1200 × 1800 JPEG.

FitResultUse it when
Keep full imageThe full image remains visible; a matching blurred background fills extra space. The original contains details or existing text near its edges.
Fill coverThe image fills the portrait canvas with a centered crop. The subject is centered and cropping the edges is acceptable.

Neither mode stretches the original image out of proportion. Check the preview before choosing a crop.

3. Add title and author text

Enable “Add book title and author.” The text comes from Book details. If the image already has a title printed on it, you can leave this switch off to avoid duplicate lettering. The main card’s color palette sets both text elements; its custom field accepts a six-digit color such as #243E30.

4. Click the cover to arrange the text

  1. Click the thumbnail to open the enlarged preview.
  2. Select Book title or Author, or click the corresponding text box.
  3. Drag the text to move it. Drag the bottom-right corner to resize it, or use the Text size slider.
  4. Choose a color for the selected text. Title and author can have different colors.
  5. Click Done to return to the converter. Changes are kept for this conversion.

You can also focus a text box and use arrow keys to move it, or focus its corner and use arrow keys to resize it. Hold Shift for larger steps. Text wraps automatically and stays inside the canvas; very long text may shrink or end with an ellipsis.

5. Export and check the actual ebook

Click Convert to EPUB and download the book. The exported JPEG contains the text, positions, sizes, and colors from the preview, without selection boxes. After changing the cover, convert again to update the EPUB. Open it in your intended reader to check the cover at library-thumbnail size as well as full size.

Common cover problems

Without an uploaded image, the tool generates a simple SVG cover from the title and author. For the rest of the book, see chapter formatting and the complete TXT to EPUB guide.
